Engine becomes an Employee-Owned Trust

After more than 25 years of helping organisations reimagine their customer experience, we’ve reimagined something of our own: how we run our business.

Engine is now officially an Employee-Owned Trust (EoT), which means every person who works at Engine now has a stake in the company’s future.

It’s a big moment, and one we’re proud of. As a company that puts people at the heart of everything we do, becoming an EoT reflects our belief in a unified and collaborative approach, while building a team of people who genuinely care. And we couldn’t be more excited.

CEO Lisa Skinner said: “We’ve always helped our clients reimagine the way they deliver their customer experience – so it felt only right to reimagine the way we run our own business.

“Moving to an Employee-Owned Trust is a natural step for us. It reflects the ‘together’ approach that’s always been at the heart of how we work – with each other and with our clients. It’s about shared purpose, long-term commitment, and making sure the business stays true to the values we’ve built it on, together.”

Why now?

We’ve always believed that the best customer experiences start from within. When people feel connected, empowered and valued, that energy flows outwards to our clients, their teams and their customers, leaving a lasting impact. Becoming an EoT is the ultimate reflection of that belief.

This isn’t just about ownership on paper. It’s about ownership in mindset. When you know the future of the business is in your hands, and in the hands of the people you work with every day, it shifts how you show up – not just for each other but for our clients and the work we do.

By transitioning to an EoT we’re rewarding our people who power the business, whilst preserving the values and culture that make us Engine.

What does this mean for our clients?

Let’s be clear – innovation is great. But if it’s not joined up across channels and departments, it can actually confuse and frustrate customers. Consistency builds trust. And trust builds loyalty.

We’re still Engine – the same team, the same ethos – but now with an even deeper sense of ownership behind every project.

As an employee-owned business, we show up with the same energy we bring to our own business: curious, committed and focused on what will make a real difference. And because we’re built on long-term relationships, this change only strengthens the way we work with you.

This shift also protects what matters most: our culture. Becoming employee-owned helps us stay independent, values driven and focused on long-term impact, not short-term gain.

We’re known for being people people, and that doesn’t stop with our team. We listen closely, challenge constructively and build lasting partnerships. That doesn’t change. But now, the person running your workshop, designing your experience or coaching your leadership team is even more invested in delivering results that stick.

By becoming an EoT, everyone has greater stakes in the company’s future and can share in the success we work with our clients to create. We treat your business like our own. Because in many ways, it is.
